Description

Empowering the Next Generation of Tech Leaders The Google Developer Groups On-Campus (GDGOC) at the University of the City of Manila (PLM) is a vibrant community for students interested in Google developer technologies. The General Assembly 2025 serves as the organization’s flagship event, designed to onboard new members, showcase the year’s roadmap, and foster collaboration among aspiring developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts within the campus.

The Challenge: Engagement and Practical Application The organization faced a dual challenge: the need to drive higher participant registration through a compelling digital showcase and a lack of immediate, hands-on projects for the Web Development department to execute. Without a dedicated event website, the General Assembly relied on static social media posts, which limited the ability to provide a comprehensive, interactive preview of the event’s value and technical depth.

The Solution: A High-Fidelity Framer & React Experience To solve this, I led the rapid development of a custom event platform using Framer, integrated with React for sophisticated, high-performance animations. This project served as a "live laboratory" for the Web Development department, showcasing modern web design principles and interactive storytelling. I focused on a seamless user journey—from event discovery to registration—ensuring the site was fully responsive and visually aligned with Google’s developer brand identity while maintaining a unique, student-led energy.

  • Exceptional Core Web Vitals: Achieved a perfect 100 SEO score and a 96 in Best Practices, ensuring the event was highly discoverable and met the highest industry standards for web safety and reliability.

  • High-Performance Technical Build: Leveraged Framer and React to secure a 92 Performance score, providing a fluid, low-latency experience for students accessing the site on various devices.

  • Accessible Community Design: Maintained a 90 Accessibility score, ensuring the event information was inclusive and easily navigable for all potential student participants.

  • Practical Talent Development: Served as a primary hands-on project for the Web Development department, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional-grade deployment.
