Description
The Digital Hub for PLM’s Developer Community The official GDGOC PLM website serves as the central ecosystem for the Google Developer Groups On-Campus at the University of the City of Manila. Designed to foster community engagement, the platform showcases student-led projects, upcoming events, and technical blogs, providing a professional digital home for one of the most active tech organizations on campus.
The Challenge: Collaborative Scalability The primary objective was to create a unified workspace where the Web Development and UI/UX design departments could collaborate seamlessly on a live, production-grade project. The challenge lay in building a system that was robust enough to handle high traffic and frequent content updates from multiple contributors, while ensuring the design remained consistent with Google’s developer brand identity across various complex pages and features.
The Solution: An Enterprise-Grade Full-Stack Platform I spearheaded the development of the platform using Next.js and Tailwind CSS, prioritizing speed and a modern developer aesthetic. To ensure a professional and cohesive UI, I implemented Shadcn/ui components and integrated LottieFiles for lightweight, high-impact animations. To solve the collaboration bottleneck, I architected a headless CMS workflow using Contentful, allowing designers and writers to manage events and blogs independently while the development team focused on engineering new features and optimizing performance.
High-Performance Architecture: Leveraged Next.js and Tailwind CSS to build a lightning-fast, SEO-optimized platform that serves as the official digital face of GDGOC PLM.
Unified Design System: Implemented Shadcn/ui and LottieFiles to maintain a consistent, high-fidelity user experience across all community-driven pages.
Scalable Content Operations: Integrated Contentful CMS, enabling real-time collaboration between the Design and Web departments and streamlining the publication of projects and blogs.
Live Community Engagement: Successfully launched the core platform to support membership onboarding and event tracking, with ongoing development for advanced community features.
